This command will give you 2-byte integer binary file.

AIRS CO2 data †

hdp dumpsds -d -b -i 2 INFILE > OUTFILE

This command will give you 4-byte real binary file. AIRS CO2 data is available at http://disc.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/AIRS/data-holdings/by-data-product/airsL3_C2M.shtml .

  • How to download the data

From Mirador site at NASA, you can search the code from catalog. Such as http://mirador.gsfc.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/mirador/homepageAlt.pl?keyword=AIRX3C2M

Then "View files" -> "Add all files in All pages in cart" -> "Continue to shopping cart" -> "Check out" and click "Download Serviced Data only" button for "UNIX script for use with wget". It's FREE though it sounds like charged.
