Memo about CCSR/NIES GCM (mainly AGCM and MATSIRO)

How to run test experiment (2008/08-)

Available at http://hydro.iis.u-tokyo.ac.jp/~kei/tmp/agcm5.6_test_2.tar.gz

Difference from the older version (below) is:

  • Altix.tar has already be extracted.
  • Bug fix for ground water table in src/proj/matsiro/matrof.F
  • Regional project, src/proj/jpnmat, is included.
  • Offline river project, src/proj/offriv, is included.
  • Offline river for Japan, src/proj/jpnriv, is included.
  • Updates in src/admin/asetc.F (for OPT_REGION)
  • TRIP calculation (OPT_TRIP) is included in src/physics/pgriv.F

Getting started:

(mkdir your working directory and cd to it.)
wget http://hydro.iis.u-tokyo.ac.jp/~kei/tmp/agcm5.6_test_2.tar.gz
tar xvfz agcm5.6_test_2.tar.gz
setenv AGCMDIR XXXX/agcm5.6    # for bsh,bash : export AGCMDIR=XXXX/agcm5.6
cd $AGCMDIR
vi $AGCMDIR/Mkinclude
 -->SYSTEM=Altix
 -->RTYPE=parallel 
 -->NOFPE=8                    # No. of CPUs
 -->PROJECT=offmat
cd src
make clean
make dirs
make lib
make gcm 
cd ../gosh
vi ./GSWP2.parallel.Altix
 -->edit AGCMDIR, MNPE, etc.
./GSWP2.parallel.Altix
 --> Go.

How to run test experiment (old version)

Caution!! This description may be old.

cd $AGCMDIR
tar xvf ./Altix.tar
vi $AGCMDIR/Mkinclude
 -->SYSTEM=Altix
 -->RTYPE=parallel 
 -->NOFPE=8                    # No. of CPUs
 -->PROJECT=offmat

# To use TRIP river routine
#
# download new version of pgriv.F from wiki
# replace $AGCMDIR/src/physics/pgriv.F
# add -DOPT_TRIP into $AGCMDIR/src/phyics/Makefile

cd $AGCMDIR/src
make clean
make dirs
make lib
make gcm

cd $AGCMDIR/gosh
vi ./GSWP2.parallel.Altix
 -->edit AGCMDIR, MNPE
 (You don't have to have AGCMDIR parameter if you already set) 
 (ENABLE output variable RRUNOF in here IF -DOPT_TRIP WAS GIVEN!!)

./GSWP2.parallel.Altix
 --> Go.
